I'm looking some projector, which can be integrated with KNX system by Gira Homeserver or WAGO IP device or by RS232/485.

When I started my HomeCinema project, I tried to select only devices with an IP I/F, to be easily integrated with the HS. It turned out to be a veeeery bad / expensive idea (2 years ago). I settled for the IRTrans devices (PoE and DB). I first controlled all devices (DVD/Blu-Ray LG, ampli Yamaha, projo BenQ) with the IR remote control, then I programmed the IRTrans to make it work also (ampli & DVD) are in a technical room, so not "seen" from the room). Recently, I got a Logitech Harmony 600 Remote, so now I've only 1 remote control (I have to beam the IRTrans on the ceiling). On the wall, I've a small Info-Display with 4 HomeCinema commands. The HS has been set-up with 4 Sequences (please mind sequence, NOT Scenario) Prep: set-up some lights, close curtain, down Velux blinds, power-on ampli, sub-woof, LG etc in standby mode, downs the screen Play: sends commands from the HS to really power-on the devices via IRTrans. End: stops the projo, ejects the DVD, dimm some lights Clean-up: up the screen, power-off all devices (no stand-by) shuts all lights

Hope it helps

Yeah.. that's what I wan't to achive. How about feedback telegrams from projector, f.e. I'm turned on or similar?

How about feedback telegrams from projector

Nice shot ! That's indeed a weak point :-( No status feed-back with this system.

Even more, some (very modern) devices use the same command for On and Off (kind of toggle) so the real action depends on the previous state of the device. Very poor, indeed :-( Other systems feature a discrete command for On, and for Off, although there is no status feedback, you can be pretty sure that if you issue a Power-On, the device IS Power-On

PS: no problem installing sequences in the HS. With IRTrans, RTFM a couple of times before getting it right.

Some Epson projectors allow the use of a "PWR?" function via RS-232 to check what's the projector status. See point 8 on page 12 of the Epson ESC/VP21 Codes at http://files.support.epson.com/Epson_Handbook/assets/content/proddetails/download/pdf/ESCVP21_e_P.pdf. You can also get this file from http://files.support.epson.com/Epson_Handbook/html/p9700UB_rs232.html.

On the PDF file you can see what models support it.

Hi Tommy

Have a look at http://files.support.epson.com/Epson_Handbook/html/home_entertainment.html all of the projectors have the RS232 port. Some of the professonal models also have an ethernet or USB port so the control can also be done via those. Neverless there's no specific example on integration with KNX although you have on their pages all the RS232 control codes necessary for a possible integration.

Zennio sells a KNX to RS232 interface and they have an example of an integration with a Panasonic projector. See http://www.zennio.com/en/productos/interfaces/skx-open and the integration example on file http://www.zennio.com/images/stories/zennio/soporte/pasarelas/Example_SKX_Open.zip

Hope this can help
