hey guys, the topic title pretty much speaks for itself, but anyways, how do I program a off all function using ETS4, i am using a 4 connecting switch by Schneider electric, and trying to integrate it with my ABB output module (AT/S 4.6.2) but i can't really figure it out. Any of u had any experience with this?

In addition to the group adresses you create for each individual channel you need to create one more for the "all off" function. (If you are using a 4-fold switch to control 4 channels there are no pushbuttons left for "all off"?). Anyhow, the "all off" group address is connected to each channel on the actuator and then to the pushbutton that will send the command.

Topic related answer: use logic engine and in several program lines describe what should be switched off - quick and easy. Here is an example.

Mostly there is also "central object" for one device. Often you should also activate "central function" for each channel in properities.

Can you elaborate on that topic, please ? Since the beginning, I failed to understand that feature. All I can see from the Help, is that it is used in ETS for the Copy function and the assignment of GAs. I see no relation with the topic at hand, I guess I miss a link ?

Also, I've run into problems with the All-Off function in a 2 lines topology with filtering disabled in the LC. Maybe not the right place to discuss it here. I'm new to this forum.

There are two different functionality called "Central function":

  1. Central function is something, what you are configurating in device parameters (right click on device->edit parameters). If you enable this function, you will find also "Central object" on device.

  2. When you double-click on group addres, there is also "central function" field. It is something different than central object, and it has nothing to do with device parameters. It is some usefull function when you copy group addresses. I've never used it :-)

Hence the confusion :-(

I seem vaguely to remember something about multi-line, filtering and LC. Is it this one which cares for GA to be passed along the LC ?

Nor did I, but nice to know ;-)

Thank you for your reply

No. 14/15 is group, which is passed along the LC. If you put "central object" from device 1.1.1 into group 0/0/1 and send $01 value, then all relays from device 1.1.1 will become close. If you send $00 value, all relays will become open.

OK, thanks

OK, thanks. I guess this is applicable for actuators only (makes no sense for a BP, does it ?)
