Hello,

I would like to export all the ETS4 data from my project as XML. I particularly need: device types, their addresses, groups, the objects loaded into them (linked to the device, of course) and the parameterisation for each object in the group/device.

I found the group xml export function, just not the project data (which is promised in the ETS for Experts pamphlet).

I'm using ETS4 Pro, and I'm a noobie! (I'm sure you all smelt that coming a mile off.

Thanks in advance...

miro - I think I can come to your rescue here!

After asking the question last night, I spent a few hours looking for the answer (a very boring Saturday evening!). Follow these steps:

Export your project using ETS4 as standard. This produces a .knxproj file. Use an unzipping utility (I use 7ZIP, which is free) to 'unzip' the knxproj file. Inside you find the required XML data!!!

I also found a copy of the XML Project schema for ETS4, which is available on the KNX website.

Hope this helps,

there's no XML project data export in ETS4, except for group adresses.

yes, that is the thing, I paid 950€ for tool which doesn't do the thing. now I'm back to ETS3, because I needed all the data in .xml or .csv. I had the finished project, but i had to programm it in ETS3 from start, because couldn't do it in ETS4.

now they are going to kill support for ETS3, well, go ahead, I say, bacause if it will continue to be like till now, then I don't need it at all...
