Hi Everybody,

I wonder if anyone here can explain me how (in general)the VOIP telephony is integrated to KNX. Are there companies specialized in this field?(Their Links?)

Thanks,

There's a Spanish company called Vocali that built a Voice Control gateway to KNX instalations. The product is called INVOX and one of the methods you can use to send voice commands to the system is via a VOIP interface. See http://www.vocali.net/invox/en/index.html. We have already talked about this solution some time ago here in this forum . See http://ask.aboutknx.com/questions/256/knx-voice-control for more details and a brief english translation I made for the product manual. As far as I know there's only a Spanish and German versions of the INVOX server.

There are also some people that has already tried to integrate the control of KNX installations with commands sent via some Cisco VOIP phones with some degree of success. You can read more about this on the german knx-user-forum.de . See threads http://knx-user-forum.de/knx-eib-forum/3992-cisco-7970-asterisk-hs-visu.html and http://knx-user-forum.de/knx-eib-forum/4403-eiblib-ip-eibnet-ip.html (luckily comments on those threads are mostly in English).

Hi EB

Thanks for reply what I meant was second part (not the voice control or voice command) For example, to use same touch pad on VOIP telephony to control light in the office This looks complicated, is there a simpler way? Thanks
