I need a portable touch panel for one of my project with 8,4" or bigger screen size. I prefer to have wi-fi communication. Does anybody have any suggestion please ?

Thanks All the guys who answered.

First I offered my customer cheaper solution with iPad and HomeServer, or İpad + ayControl basic software. But the customer find it too simple for the meeting room.

Than I offered 2 different solution.

  1. Iseo Touch M84: It needs Siemens N148/21 KNX/IP Interface and Iseo 2 Software. This solution approximatelly cost me 2.600 € + VAT including delivery and custom taxes.
  2. Vity TACTUM XP360: The whole package including charger, docking station, KNX Interface and WiFi access point. It cost approximatively 2.600 € Ex-Works.

So I decided to use Iseo. Hope this will be helpful for future needs of the members.

What was the cost just for the Iseo 2 software? What options did it include? KNX? UPnP? RS232?

Hello again. I just have 8 modules on my KNX network. So I chose Iseo 2 Lite. And the list price is about 315 € + VAT. The description of the licence is like below;

Software for controlling light, projectors, matrix switchers, relays, EIB/KNX, Wings Platinum shows, etc. The software can also be used as independent Digital Signage system. Software license "Lite" allows 2 network connections and 5 pages per project. Supported OS: Windows XP/ Vista / 7. Scope of delivery: USB dongle + license key, installation CD/DVD and manual. The system is unlocked via a dongle and an unlock code.

IPAD isn't so expensive (comparing to the other wireless touch panels) and have good quality, so I recommend it. Software - GIRA HomeServer, Aycontrol, Smart Remote, iVoyager.

iPad is great, but not standalone solution. you need some visualisation software, and than you have what? 2.5k€ solution?

but one have to admit, iPad, for remote controlling is great, excellent battery time, great fun factor, and great usability.

@Miro - I don't know well VITY products. I'm using on my objects IPAD with HomeServer, because it has much more extra advantages. It isn't the cheapest, but in my opinion one of the best.

What is the price of VITY 10" wireless touch panel with connection to KNX bus, timer channels, and logic (sometimes logic is necessary in bigger projects)?

About Server for IPAD - there is Aycontrol, which doesn't require server. It costs ~about few hundred EU for basic software.

what's your intention with this sort of panel?

it all depends on your needs. you can have some kind of tablet PC, iPad, or any other kind of device. do you want direct KNX access or through visualisation software, maybe HomeServer client? you see there are lots of combinations.

for panels you can look at www.vity.com

if you need more exact answer you should be more specific.

Have you considered xxter? This is a server - client configuration, which adds much more than just the iPad / iPhone configuration. Also complete free scenario control, schedulers, push-notifications, text-messages and much more.

Take a look at http://www.xxter.com/
