My current project consists of one area (1.0) and three lines (1.1, 1.2 and 1.1.3) divided on three floors in a building. Everything works great but i can´t download it from one place, the only way to download is to move my USB interface between the lines. I have turned the filtering off in the line couplers but it does not help. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have not specified a valid address for your USB interface. In ETS go to "Extras" -> "Options" and select the "Communication"-tab, Click on "Settings" and enter a valid adress in the "individual adress"-field.

The address must be unique and conform to the line where it is connected. For example, 1.1.250 if it is connected to the line 1.1 and 1.2.250 if it is connected to line 1.2. Remember that you have to change this address whenever you move the interface between the lines.

if you only download devices in the same line as the interface, the adress normally doesn´t matter.

Why is this?

What´s happening is comparable to sending a letter to a friend, and enter the wrong sender. Your friend will respond to the wrong address and the message will fall into the wrong mailbox.

Communication will thus be routed to the wrong line by the couplers if you have not entered the correct sender.

So do not forget to change your address when you go on vacation or moving to another place :-)

I don't know why, but sometimes if you are connected to 1.1.x line with usb device, you should change address into incorect one from different line like 1.0.250 or 1.2.250. Otherwise you will not have possibility to download applications into devices from different line. You can send telegrams with L-priority from computer, but you will not be able to send telegrams with S-priority, which changes the application.
