I have not used the product but I have just read their user manual a here's a brief description.
You can see the white paper (spanish language but with usefull visual info) here http://www.vocali.net/invox/download/invox-whitepaper.pdf.
It's a dedicated PC based solution with ethernet, WiFi and KNX connectors. It has a line-in for a microphone to listen to your vocal commands.
These vocal commands are interpreted by a speech recognition engine and translated to a scene name.
You program and name these scenes with a the INVOX Configurator Editor, together with information given by an ETS3 export. These scenes are a combination of (from their user manual) :
Name: the literall name assigned to the scene. Examples of names for
scenes could be "turn lights on" or "watch TV". These names correspond to the vocal commands you will dictate to the system. You can have multiple alias names for a scene for example "Turn on TV" as an alias for "Watch TV".
Group address: in this field should indicate the group address you indicated in
ETS for this scene.
DPT: here indicates the data type of the selected group address. This may be of
1 bit, 3 bits, 1 byte (= 8 bits), 2 bytes or String.
Value: Finally, you must indicate what value should be sent to the address
The room, or location, names also have to be defined and the devices that exist in each room with also have to be configured.
For each device it must be configured what are the possible actions. The values that must be defined are:
Group address: in this field should be indicated the group address you indicated in
ETS for this scene.
DPT and *DPT Minor Type: in these two fields indicate the type of data management
selected group. This may be 1 bit, 3 bits, 1 byte (= 8 bits), 2 bytes or String.
Value: A numeric field that indicates the values that the action may take, separated by commas. It can be specified intervals, indicating the first element and the last, separated by a hyphen. As an example, if we want the action to take the values 3, 5, and values of 10 to 20 inclusive, you must write: "3,5,10-20". A clear example of use might be a television, an action "switch to" and values 1-99, that represent possible channels.
Label: Some devices besides a value also require an associated label. As example is the case of the mode of operation of air conditioners, in order o be operated , need to take a value for an action, and an associated label value, for exemple:value of 1 and label "summer".
The vocal commands can be dictated to the pluged microphone of can be dictated to a VOIP client software available for Windows Mobile 6.x or iPhone/iPod
From the manuals only the spanish language is referred. No reference for english speech recogniton, or any other language.
The list price on http://www.futurasmus.com/ is 2.185,00 € + VAT. Nevertheless they also list a special version for showrooms at 1.100,00 € + VAT ( not sure why this but maybe for self promotion).
Hope this information can help everyone. In my opinion seems an interesting concept but a bit overpriced
