My ETS3 is working slow, especially when inserting products into the project. It sometimes takes about one minute for the first one, then it might speed up a little. I´m pretty sure that i cant blame my computer, i have had the same problem on all my machines and hear the same complaints from colleagues.

Is there a single factor that can improve the performance, CPU, memory, hard drive speed etc.? And what are ETS doing during the minute i have to wait?

Since ETS is based on an SQL-database i would guess that CPU is the most important factor. "Purchase a server with as many CPUs as you can afford" was a rule of thumb i found on a website dedicated to optimizing SQL-servers.

I have different databases for different projects, i makes it easier for me to handle backup and it also makes it faster to work. Maybe not an answer to your question but at least a workaround. I really hope that ETS4 will be faster.
